Meet Brian
Senior Staff Electrical Engineer, working in Mission Systems Group (MSG) on the “National Programs” team.
How does your expertise make a difference at ENSCO?
I enjoy using my experience on numerous electronic systems designs to address the unique problems our customer brings us. It requires us to work with the customer to develop the requirements and mission details. We have to strike the right balance of an innovative technical approach, getting a product out quickly, and having it perform well enough to meet the need.
How has ENSCO supported your career growth?
ENSCO has been supportive of my extracurricular classes online as well as providing company-sponsored training events for both technical and managerial growth.
What made you want to become an engineer?
I took apart and assembled computers and various electronics as a kid which spawned my interest in an engineering degree, and ultimately an engineering career.
What advice would you give someone looking to start a career in your field?
Let your hobbies be examples of your talent. Many successful engineers tinker at home and have brought significant skillsets from their hobbies to the workplace.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside work I do mostly dad-related things: coaching baseball and outdoor activities with my kids. I do get some of my own time to play on an adult softball team, poker with the neighbors, and play music.
