Trainsets will undergo braking, acceleration and other operational testing at TTC
Springfield, Va., October 10, 2022
ENSCO Rail, the global engineering services company, announced today that it has reached an agreement with Stadler US Inc, the rail vehicle manufacturer, to conduct operational testing at the Transportation Technology Center (TTC) in Pueblo, Colorado. Testing will be performed on Stadler Diesel-Multiple Unit (DMU) trainsets in support of its delivery to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). ENSCO, Inc. assumes management of the U.S. Department of Transportation – Federal Railroad Administration’s TTC research and test facility October 1.
“ENSCO is excited to support Stadler’s DMU operational tests for these state-of the-art DMU trainsets,” stated Jeff Stevens, ENSCO, Inc. president. “We thank Stadler for choosing ENSCO to conduct this testing at the TTC in recognition of our technical capabilities as the Center begins a new era under ENSCO’s management,” he continued.
Stadler-built DMUs will undergo multiple operating tests on the TTC’s test track to evaluate braking, acceleration, ride quality performance, and safety compliance measures. The TTC’s vast network of test tracks and rolling stock test equipment provide Stadler – and other rail vehicle manufacturers around the world – with complete and comprehensive testing and evaluation of new trainsets. Use of the TTC to conduct these tests eliminates interference with railway revenue service operations. The Stadler passenger rolling stock testing program marks the first of many rail, transit, and surface transportation companies that will utilize the unique and comprehensive testing capabilities of the TTC under ENSCO’s management. ENSCO provides its commitment to the railway industry for the confidentiality of data and information generated by all site users.
